Our Linens Ladies

As an all-volunteer organization, we literally could not do the work of Gracing Spaces without our volunteers, so every few weeks, we are going to highlight some of our volunteers and share how they contribute to Gracing Spaces.

Mary and Anita head up the “bed, bath, and beyond” department of Gracing Spaces.  They carefully inspect all incoming donations and make sure they are clean and nice.  When social workers request bedroom and bathroom products for their clients, this dynamic duo springs into action, selecting and packing comforters, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, hygiene products, and bathroom products.  Keen to make the recipients of these donations feel loved, Mary and Anita tie up the linens or towel bundles with ribbon, essentially “gift-wrapping” these items (with a coordinating color, of course!).  For adults and kids who have slept in shelters or on the ground, it is a joy for Mary and Anita (and the rest of us!) to envision them in real beds with fresh, clean linens and new pillows!
