Linens and More…Lots More!

The faithful volunteers who manage our linens department work their magic each and every week. No strangers to close quarters, they organize mountains of comforters, sheets, towels, and pillows. They make sure that all is clean, tidy, and ready for clients, often sending them out wrapped in a ribbon. During the first half of this year, they have fulfilled clients’ requests for 220 sets of linens and 92 sets of towels. And sometimes, an unexpected boost makes it possible to serve even more…

Christmas came early for our linens department during July, when we received a special delivery from Nancy Bruno of Terraforma Church in Brambleton, VA. Their church had completed an outreach project for Gracing Spaces, creating kits for our clients that included bedding and toys for little boys and girls. About 20 complete sets of linens were assembled, featuring unicorns, Minecraft, Bluey, butterflies, and princesses, with added stuffies to match each set.

What a generous offering! We’re blessed that so many individuals and organizations like Terraforma Church dedicate some of their available summertime to serving neighbors in need. Please let us know if you’d like to spend a little of your summer making the world more like the kingdom of heaven!
