Magical Winter Makeovers

As our weekly workload increases, weโ€™re doing our best to meet the demand for home makeovers. Diane has stepped up as our master planner, coordinating the many hands and furnishings needed to transform a space into a home. With a growing base of volunteers of all ages, Diane managed Saturday morning makeovers on both February 1 and 22. The Depot Team staged furniture and furnishings so that the teams could pack up and get on the road as early as possible.

As the makeover caravan arrives on site, volunteers usher everything inside, sometimes up stairways or onto unreliable elevators. Furniture is arranged and rearranged until everything is in its place. Beds are assembled, pillows fluffed, lamps dusted, towels folded, pictures hung, and final touches added to welcome the neighbors into their new home. Through it all, the teams work with joy and humor that always seems to shine through the labors.

Our makeovers are becoming as popular with volunteers as they have always been with our clients. Diane hopes to schedule regular makeovers for the fourth Saturday of the month. We remain โ€œMany hands with one goalโ€. Weโ€™d love to see you at another makeover soon!
