Toy Stories

Gracing Spaces is in the business of helping neighbors rebuild their lives.  This usually includes providing beds, dining tables and chairs, dressers, and other home furnishings essential to make a home.  For families with children, making play and learning possible in their new home can be just as essential.

So far this year, our toy department has provided 76 bags of toys and 8 baby baskets to 186 children. (In 2024, we provided 333 bags of toys, books, and games, as well as 52 baby baskets, to 721 children).  These previously-loved treasures had brought years of smiles to the children or grandchildren of our gracious donors.

Making children smile is a specialty of our toy department volunteers, who sort these treasures each week. Itโ€™s typical that families find a special stuffed animal, game, Legos, or other treat along with the furniture, beds, kitchen goods, linens, lamps, and clothes, theyโ€™ve requested.

Our partnerships with Centreville United Methodist Churchโ€™s monthly Grace Ministries and with other organizations in December holiday gatherings give us even more opportunities to spread smiles to our neighbors.

Smiles are contagiousโ€ฆwe invite you to consider catching a few with our Toy Department volunteers!
