Closing a Year of Service

As we wrap up our final week of community service for 2025, weโ€™re grateful for the gifts of those who have supported the ministry in many waysโ€ฆ
โ€ข An ever-widening circle of neighbors who donate gently used furniture and other household goods, and volunteers who receive, transport, and prepare them for a new home with our clients;
โ€ข Community partners with whom we share the tasks of serving neighbors in need;
โ€ข Financial donors, who help us keep the lights on and the trucks running, and purchase beds, linens, and other home goods when the needs overwhelm our donated inventory;
โ€ข Warehouse volunteers who balance their other weekly commitments and faithfully toil even through extremes of weather;
โ€ข Neighbors in need, who bring us face to face and hand in hand with Jesus;
โ€ข Founders whose vision started us on this journey, and our Board who keeps us focused on that vision;
โ€ข Those who support this ministry with their prayers.

With this week, we close down for the holidays. Many of us will gather in churches, sing those wonderful carols, and exchange gifts. The holidays are also a time that brings into sharper focus the chasm between those who have so much and those who have so little. The ministry of Gracing Spaces shakes us from our complacency and encourages us to follow the example of Christ who cared mightily for the poor. With God, who inspires and empowers us all, we look forward to the New Year!
